The beauty is in the details. The magic is in the teamwork. ✨Behind every beautifully designed space are countless conversations, creative ideas, thoughtful selections, and a team of designers that genuinely love what they do.From the perfect fabric combination to the smallest finishing detail - collaboration, creativity, and attention go into every IBB project. We may obsess over the details, but that’s because we know how much they matter.

You really get to know a designer when you make them choose between two things they love. 😂We’re back with another round of This or That, and #teamIBB is revealing a few more of their design preferences.Whose answers have you saying, “YES, exactly!”? ⬇️

Matchy- matchy isn’t the goal—in fact, curated is they key!As Joan shares, your dining chairs don’t need to perfectly match your dining table. Mixing complementary finishes, materials, and styles creates depth and gives the room a much more collected, interesting feel. And while we’re at it…just step away from the matching furniture sets altogether. 😉 A room is far more interesting when the pieces feel thoughtfully curated rather than purchased as a group.Designer takeaway: Coordinate, don’t match. That’s where the personality begins. ✨

It fits the room…but will it fit through the door? As Jory shares, selecting the right furniture isn’t just about the dimensions and scale of the room. You also have to consider the journey it takes to get there—door and hallway widths, tight corners, staircases, elevators, and every turn along the way.Because the perfect sofa isn’t quite so perfect if it can’t make it into the room. 😂Designer takeaway: Measure the space, but don’t forget to measure the path to it. Planning ahead also gives your designer time to anticipate challenging spaces and determine the best solution before installation day—whether that means selecting a different construction, arranging special delivery logistics, or finding another way in.A little planning on the front end can save a lot of surprises on installation day. 🤍

Here’s one bedroom detail you’ll appreciate every single morning. 🤍As Michael shares, when selecting your rug size and placement, think about where your feet will actually land when you get out of bed. The rug should extend far enough beyond the bed that you’re stepping onto something soft and comfortable—not the edge of the rug or bare floor. It’s a simple detail, but getting the scale and placement right makes the entire bedroom feel more comfortable, balanced, and beautifully finished.Design for how the room looks—but always consider how you’ll actually live in it. ✨

The secret to beautifully placed artwork? Give it something to relate to. ✨As Cindy shares, don’t automatically center your artwork on the wall. Instead, consider the furniture beneath it and center the art in relation to that piece. The furniture and artwork should work together as one composition, creating balance within the room as a whole. It’s a simple designer shift that can make a big difference in how polished a space feels.Think composition, not just center. 🤍

Your bookshelves should tell your story—not just fill a wall. 🤍As Joan shares, look beyond traditional accessories when styling your shelves. Layer in favorite books, treasures collected while traveling, family photographs, artwork, and objects that reflect your interests and experiences. Those meaningful pieces are what give a home personality and make it impossible to replicate. The best styling doesn’t just look beautiful—it gives people a glimpse of who lives there. ✨
